I am not sure when my obsession with photography began, but I am sure it was when I was very young! As long as I can remember I have been taking photos in my head, memories, and visual moments. I always focus on the details and would study the whiskers on a cat or the feathers on a bird. In elementary school I would often get into trouble for not paying attention, but now I realize that I was just more interested in what was going on outside those classroom windows. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania my art was nature. I spent countless hours hiking and playing in the rivers and woods of Central Pennsylvania. We did not have art classes or galleries. I remember my first school field trip to Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. I was awe struck, in fact I lost track of time and was two hours late back to the bus! Today I am still trekking around in nature like I did as a child . Photography is such a personal form of art. It means something different to each and every one of us. Photography helps us to freeze those moments and details. One stops, focuses, and breathes in the moment. So enjoy the moment, slow down and look around and breathe! Enjoy!
